Hello Everyone,
Our Webskills course is off to another week. Everyone did such an excellent job last week with their ABCD objectives--which tend to be difficult to write at first.
This week we're doing some new and exciting things. I hope that everyone reads the example Project Reports and has a much more clear view of the projects that will be due at the end of the course. I think that seeing examples is very helpful.
One thing to keep in mind when pondering projects is to choose something new to try in your class--a new technology tool that you've never done before. Another thing to keep in mind is to keep the project simple! Don't try to do too much. Although you'll come across many exciting and fun tools, don't try to include all of them in one project. For purposes of the project, just include one or two (for example a class blog or a webquest or a wiki). Don't try to do too much. Once you see how your project goes, you can try other tools in your class.
The new task for this week is to create a Delicious page. I think that Delicious is wonderful and amazingly helpful. Another alternative (and a more powerful alternative) is Diigo. If you find Delicious too simple or not meeting your needs, try Diigo.
I hope that everyone has a great week and learns lots of new things.

Hi Donna!
ReplyDeleteI've looked at Diigo. It's better than Delicious in some respects, but I'm not going to make a transition from Delicious to Diigo because I was looking for 'Collaborative Bookmarking' which even Diigo doesn't offer. I was wondering if any other social bookmarking site does that.

Hello Donna,
ReplyDeleteYou might wonder why I am at Blogger.com now when during the past two weeks I blogged at Wordpress. After having explored this site, visited your page, those of Tariq, Chandy, and Muhammad's pages and the rest of the Fall Webskills participants' pages, I seem to find this site quite interesting to work at. In fact when I posted my Week 3 reflections in Blogger and have it shared to my Facebook account, I am glad to note that there are teachers in our local division clicked "Like". I am still updating as well my page at Wordpress since I started there.
Yes, you are right Donna. The project reports of the past Webskills participants gave me some clearer perspectives of where I am heading to.
Slowly but surely... one or two tools at a time for my project with my class this second semester - thanks for these ideas Donna!
God bless and more power!

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for all the interesting materials we are learning. I already created a delicious page, so I won't change. Diigo is interesting too. I might use it one day.
Best regards,
Karen
